Miguel Ángel Granados Chapa
Renowned Mexican journalist, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Law and a Doctorate Degree in History. Granados has held positions in several news media, including assistant editorial director of the newspaper Excélsior (1976); director and manager of Proceso magazine (1976-1977); news chief at Channel 11 (1977); general director (1978-1979) and assistant director of Radio Educación (1978-1988); director of the newspaper La Jornada (1988-1990); and general director of Mira magazine (1990-1994). In 2008 he was awarded the Belisario Domínguez Medal of Honour, bestowed by the Senate of Mexico and presented by the President of the Republic, for his unwavering efforts to defend freedom of expression and promote justice in Mexico.
 

 
Mario Delgado Aparaín
A journalist, writer and university lecturer, Delgado Aparaín is one of Uruguay’s leading narrators. His works have been published in Spain and throughout Latin America, and translated into Dutch, German, Italian, English, Bulgarian, Portuguese, Greek and French. His novel Alivio de luto (Half-Mourning) was short-listed for the Rómulo Gallegos Prize in 1999. In 2001, he received the Cervantes Institute Prize in the Juan Rulfo Contest organised by Radio France International for his short-story Terribles ojos verdes (Fierce Green Eyes). He is currently the Arts and Science Director of the Department of Culture of the Municipal Government of Montevideo, Uruguay.

 
Luiz Gonzaga de Mello Belluzzo
A Brazilian researcher and university professor, he studied law and social sciences, specialising in economic development. Since 1986, he heads the Department of Economics and Economic Planning at the University of Campinas. He has held the positions of Economic Policy Secretary in the Ministry of Finance (1985-1987) and Science and Technology Secretary for the State of Sao Paulo (1988-1990). He writes regularly for the Brazilian press and has published dozens of books and articles. He is currently institutional president of the Celso Furtado International Centre for Development Policies, and personal economic advisor to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
 

 
Rebeca Grynspan
Born in Costa Rica, Grynspan studied economics and sociology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and holds a B.S. in Economics from the University of Costa Rica, as well as an M.S. in Economics from Sussex University in Britain. She has held several government positions in Costa Rica, including Vice Minister of Finance (1986-1988), Minister of Housing and Human Settlements (1996-1998), Coordinating Minister of the Government’s Economic (1995-1996) and Social Sectors (1994-1998), and Second Vice President of the Republic (1994-1998). She was Director of the Subregional Headquarters of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) in Mexico, and is currently Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
 

 
Mario Lubetkin
Italian-Uruguayan journalist and General Director of the news agency IPS since 2002. Lubetkin has worked as correspondent for several Latin American and Italian press media, as well as communications advisor for several UN agencies and regional integration bodies, such as LAIA (Latin American Integration Association), CEFIR (Training Centre for Regional Integration), ARPEL (Regional Association of Oil and Natural Gas Companies in Latin America and Caribbean), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
